This guy's good

Let's not forget this man. We talk a lot about living artists like Sergei and they are wonderful. Let's remember the great players of the past as well.

This was a live performance for all intents and purposes... as in one take.

We love your playing and remember you, Rafael.

Re: This guy's good

Thanks Manny

I had the privilege to see Rafael live when I was thirteen and he inspired me to take up the trumpet....I will never play like him but without doubt his inspiration to myself and others has given immeasurable joy.

He was not only a great player but also a true gentleman.

Fortunately we still have these old recordings ....his playing live was "spine tingling"

Re: This guy's good

Just happened to watch his videos earlier today on You tube. Fantasic player and person. Influence me a lot when I started 50 yrs ago, and his recordings were plentiful then, also. Just getting back into his stuff and am grateful for all the trumpet videos, unknown to me before, so as to keep those great performers with a more "real" presence to current generations.
