EXERCISES FOR THE LIP

The muscles that make up the embouchure and that generate the sound are very thin and poorly endowed for the loads. It can be useful as well to keep toned with exercises without the instrument. These should be done 5 times holding each contraction for 3 to 8 seconds with 10 seconds rest. It is desirable to be done three to five days a week. If we are to increase the strength of the lip, over the days, we slowly increase the time of contraction.
*These should be done with at least 2 hours of rest before or after playing.
1- With his mouth in a straight line, trying to pull the lip corners sideways (resignation).
2- Try to bring all the lip to one side, and if mocking someone. Repeat on the other side.
3- Pucker your lips as if kissing.
4- With teeth clenched, make a lateral traction of the lip’s corner with a simultaneous decrease of the lower lip (contempt).
5- Pull your chin up, making slight pressure on the lower lip.
6- Lift the corners of the mouth as if laughing (smile).
7- Pucker as if giving a kiss. but in this case, do not raise the lips all the way, but you should see the gum and the upper teeth (movement of the fish).
8- Stick: At six points around mouth, contract the pars marginalis around the stick (5 time each of the six locations).
9- Mosquito: Configure the embouchure, and freebuzz your highest note sustaining for 20 seconds.
