![]() | Headache/Headrush from playing in the upper register solution. Myself and a few other people who I have spoken with have been having what we have come to call "pressure headaches". Which is a headrush or headache that happens after playing a high note, and goes away after a few seconds. Well it turns out that this is caused from using to much pressure on the trumpet. I stumbled upon this website that I think will help everyone with this problem: Trumpet and Health Hope this helps some people! |

![]() | Re: Headache/Headrush from playing in the upper register solution. Well theres a couple things you can do. Before you take that sceacher note take in as much air as you can. Cause its not wise to screech with a little air left. You will either pass out or hyperventalate. Or you can apply a little more pressure, which is unreccomended. But I think I would stay off the high registers if I were you |

Wait.. so Just stay off the upper register? And what is this screeching you talk about? I thought we were playing Trumpet here, not clarinet or saxaphone. (Sorry... i'm grumpy this morning lol)

![]() | Re: Headache/Headrush from playing in the upper register solution. I used to get nose bleeds quite regulary when i was quite young, after banging out top Fs and Gs. Now i aim to be able to play 2 1/2 octaves competently. Maybe i might come back to high notes in time. |
