Hello..and help please...

Hello All....I am a musician, though I don't play trumpet, but do play banjo, guitar and mandolin. Anyway, long story short...I recently was give an old trumpet from a relative and know absolutely nothing about it.....Its in fair condition although with a few dents. I believe it is a circa 1900 B flat trumpet...It has the name "Gautrot Brevete" on it and was either retailed or manufactured at "94 Rue D'Angouleme, Paris France". Can anyone tell me anything about this trumpet...if it has any value or collectability...totally green here. I would be interested in selling this instrument...thanks, Cam

Re: Hello..and help please...

You can read about the manufacturer at

Manufacturers C.

Briefly, Gautrot aîné (Paris 1845-1884) became Couesnon (Paris 1882 - present), so it sounds like you have one old horn.

I don't have the foggiest idea about your horn's value, the guys in the Vintage forum will probably know.

Cambo cross-posted this question at http://www.trumpetmaster.com/vb/f140...pet-37957.html (Gautrot Brevete Trumpet) and I think we are all giving him the same links. :) Just thought I'd point over to there to avoid confusion.
