Air won't go through my trumpet!!
I read a previous thread about this issue on this forum, and most people said that the pistons weren't in the correct position. I'm hoping that's what's wrong with my trumpet, but I have no (yes, that's right, bolded, italicized, and underlined) idea how to fix it!
Please please help me!

deep breath
(and exhale too)
blow into your horn
press down the valves one by one (Starting with the third)
and if any air pressure seem to lessen, take out the valve and rotate it 180 degrees,
also, check if all the numbers on the valves are facing the same way

*But if you want to try to fix it anyway, make sure that "1" valve (piston) is closest to the mouthpiece, "2" valve is in the middle, and "3" valve is farthest from the mouthpiece.
And make sure that all 3 have the numbers facing the mouthpiece (on most trumpets).
And a tiny projection on the side of each valve should fit into a slot in the valve casing to keep the valve from rotating.

bagmangood; i feel completely stupid for asking you this, but where are the numbers on the valves. :P

and screaming morris; you better not be serious. :P that means i owe my school A LOT of money. more than ten dollars. ;)

You have not told us what brand trumpet you have.
The exact location of the numbers varies by brand, but the numbers tend to be within a 1 or 2 inch area near the tops of the valves (pistons).
Unscrew the top caps of all of the valves (pistons) so that they lift out of the valve casings.
Then look on the sides and on the tops of the valves (pistons) to find the numbers 1-3.

shows all 3 valves partially lifted up out of the valve casings.

I'm such a trumpet amateur. hehe.

Btw, the trumpet i'm using is a Bach something. I dunno. it just says Bach. :P

Perhaps a Bach TR300?
The TR300 is a *very* good student-level trumpet.
I think the model number might be stamped on the trumpet's mouthpiece receiver an inch from where the mouthpiece would plug into the trumpet's mouthpiece receiver?

You *lucky* devil.

A Bach TR300 is a good student-level trumpet that might sell used for $200.

A Bach TR200 is a very good intermediate-level trumpet that might sell used for $500.
Intermediate means better than student level but not quite as good as professional level.

To get better than a Bach TR200 I think you would have to get a professional-level Bach Strad.

Did I mention that you are a lucky devil for having a Bach TR200?
