Can you explain what is a "vintage" horn? Is it a customised horn set up?

Vintage: denoting something of high quality, esp. something from the past or characteristic of the best period of a person's work : a vintage Sherlock Holmes adventure.

Straight from my "vintage" (Ahem!) American Heritage unabridged Dictionary.
It should be said that the bulk of the definition refers to wine. The quote above was 3rd or 4th in the list.

Nick,

When somebody calls a trumpet a "vintage trumpet" they are meaning that it is old but valuable and maybe even rare.

It comes from the way people talk about old and delicious wines. The vintage is what year the wine was put into the bottle.
