I have a vintage Henri Selmer flugel that I just sent off to Kanstul to get an estimate to have it restored. I believe that the horn is from the 40s. I have not played that many flugelhorns but have much preferred it to the Getzen and modern olds that I have tried it up against. They are looking at it and are thinking that it will be between $600 and $700 to take out dents, strip lacquer, re-plate valves, and re-lacquer. I am thinking that I am going to go for it and have them do the work. I was just wondering what thoughts people have about Selmer flugels from this era.
