I went to my MD and was told there was a definite rattle in my chest. She gave me an anti-viral and an inhalor and sent me home. Three days later I got to visit the emergency room. After three hours and a breathing treatment I got more meds and a different inhalor. So currently there are still times when breathing seems to become desperate and the inhalor travels with me always.
This situation kind of put me off my trumpet playing for a couple of months. I just picked my horn up again about two weeks ago. I wasn't sure if there would be any bad effects from playing it. I just missed it horribly. This thread has alleviated my fears and I am glad to see others with asthma continue to play and evidently quite successfully.
Thank you all for this information!!
