HUGE THANK-YOU!s
I'd like to take the opportunity to extend big thank-you's to those who've donated instruments, mouthpieces, music and accessories to the students with whom I work in Haiti!
Thomas Dumas: Bb Martin Committee Trumpet, 4 mutes, including Tom Crown straight and 2 harmon mutes, 18 mouthpieces, and assorted valve oils and lubes!
Marty Rooney: Bb/C trumpet, pro-bono legal work for AAFEM Foundation which will be raising funds to build new schools in Haiti
Alan and Liz Colin: Music books, methods and solos
Barb Chickosky: Music books, solos, mouthpieces
Stephen Mattsen: mouthpieces and mutes (including a bunch of Renuzit practice mutes which he made for us!)
Rusty Russell: Holten Trumpet
Jerry Freedman: clarinet, mouthpieces, trumpet
Brendan Crise and Doc D'Errico: mouthpieces and valve oil
Ken Saul: Ultra Pure Professional Valve Oils
This is complete as of May 5th. I will post more as things come in. I leave on May 13th for this next round, but will also be returning there in July/August.
Many thanks to all, and a nudge: if any of you have books, trumpets, mutes, mouthpieces, etc that are just sitting around (or hanging on the wall or in the attic or basement), this is your chance to help change someone's life for the better!
Blessings and thanks,
Jeanne

Re: HUGE THANK-YOU!s
Jeanne,
I have some horns I might be able to donate. They aren't anything to look at but I do have some interesting things... would you like to stop by sometime before you leave?
Thank you for all the wonderful work you do!!!!

Jeanne,
Bethany Brass would like to donate a couple horns that I just fixed up.
Please PM me with your address so I can ship them to you.

I am going to make this sticky. A truly respectable cause!
Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

Re: HUGE THANK-YOU!s
Thanks.
This is cool.
I have been planning to start giving away refurbished horns through Bethany Brass and
Jeanne appears to have a very worthy program already started.
If anyone has old trumpets with problems like rotten pipes or slides or dents or mashed bells or whatever but the valves are still at least functioning (sticking is OK as long as the plating isn't gone and the piston isn't bent) then please send me a PM and I can probably fix it up and send it to Jeanne.

Re: HUGE THANK-YOU!s
Thanks, Dannac (and everyone):
The address is as follows:
Instrumental Change, Inc
C/o Jeanne Pocius
301 Newbury St
Suite 142
Danvers, MA 01923
This is a mail receipt location, so it is manned even when I am away in Haiti so I can receive the packages when I return to the States and bring the items on my next trip to Haiti (in October and then again in November and again in January and again in March etc)
Thanks, again, so much for all your kindness and generosity. We hope to soon have the website up with photos/videos and stories about the kids. Til then you can check out my page on facebook: Jeanne G Pocius
Blessings (from Haiti)

Greg:
You are AWESOME! And the C trumpet you built is getting lots of use down here in Haiti--and it's a really good horn! Thanks, again, SO much!
Blessings and BIG HUGS from Haiti!
Jeanne
