Inflamed taste buds

Has anyone ever experienced the joy of playing a tongue intense job with an inflamed tast bud in the wrong spot at the wrong time? I am dealing with one right now, but I have no job to worry about with it. Just practicing with it and hopefully it will just go numb.

For me, any sores in the mouth is a sign that I need to drink more water so as to get the acid level down in my body/blood or what ever. This is followed by brushing my teeth, dental flossing and gargling with Listerine.

I get them from time to time. It's a drag. The only thing that helps is time. I have been told you get them from too much sugar.
