Re: Jupiter pocket trumpet
Well, I would say that for me, G above high C is about all I can do, and all I really need to do. The 1-1/2C seems to be the right depth and backbore to allow me to get there.
I've been on safari's before (have another thread on that) Schilke, 12, 14a4A, 16b4, 17, 18. Benge 3c. Parduba 5*. Bach 7c, 5c, 1-1/2C Megatone.
The Benge 3C worked great for college with my 3xp, but not now with my Bach. The megatone worked well with my Bach, but I had to work at it.
I just got my schilke and YIKES. Keep in mind, I am working on sound. Endurance and range will develop. I like the piece for sound.
On my schilke, a 17 works GREAT. Deep dark. MMMmmmm sweet.
Range = sucky. So for Alumni Band, I went back to the 1-1/2c to get back my G's. Sound is a little thinner, but noone will notice with 200 other musicians.
