    leaking tpt

    How detrimental can that be.

My trumpet is leaking somewhere I do not knowwhere but when I remove 3rd slide and push all the keys down and put finger on top of 3rd slide opening I can feel that it is leaking somewhere

Now how does it affect playing? If at all

    Re: leaking tpt

You will always be able to overcome the sealing of things like valves, slides and water keys with air pressure from your breath. Oiled valves and greased slides will reduce this somewhat.

If you want to locate the leak - submerge the trumpet, connect a flexible tube to the lead pipe, block the other end, and blow. You will see bubbles.

However, if the trumpet is playing fine there is NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

It can affect slotting (my definition) and intonation if it is REALLY bad. The horn still remains very playable. There is no extreme pressure in the horn while playing. Most of the time the only leak that causes grief is the spit valve on the tuning slide.
Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.
