leaks in the valves

is it possible to fix leaks in valves? i am playing an Olds Super made in 1940 and pretty much every valve has a leak. anyway to fix this until i get my new horn in december?

Check the horn resources thread for some good repair people and give them a call. The following come to mind as ideas: Bob Reeves; Dillon; Wayne Tanabe.

Don't know what their turnaround time is, but it seems worth a shot.

Since you only need to use the horn for a short while, you should get a more viscous valve oil. I'd try the Hetman #3 (Classic), it is their most viscous oil.

Put slide grease on the valves. Oil until the valves work.

i said the wrong thing. i meant that the slides leak. i am sorry. but i did have the previous problem with the valves and the slide grease works for a while.

Apply thick grease to the slides.
