Gee, then maybe I could retire in a month! I like the part at the end, where it says:

Get your copy NOW
To claim your guide for the reasonable affordable price of $9.95 only, press the following button. And to give you a real incentive, being out on the web only from Mid January, I am offering you a special price of $6.95 .

Danny Carney

Dedicatet to your Trumpet playing "Dedicatet?"

P.S.
Don't forgets that within 30 days you'll be playing the trumpet!
P.P.S
As a trumpet player, what thrill will you have if you start hitting those high notes? Or getting a rich pure touchy tone? "Touchy tone?"

Re: Learn to play trumpet in just 30 days!

Volume two will be sleep learning the trumpet without having to practice!

I bet he'll sell a bunch of these things to the unwary. probably would make sense to pack these with those $80 trumpets from Wal-Mart. The concepts fit together - little investment - "big" results.

I too especially like ....

"Or getting a rich pure touchy tone?"

touchy ? It's almost worth the asking price just to find out what touchy is ?

Maybe it means, if you buy his guide , you'll feel touched (touchy) in the head after reading it ?

This doesn't beat Walt Johnson's Double-High C in Ten Minutes, though.

Re: Learn to play trumpet in just 30 days!

This, kids, is why you study grammar (and touch-typing) in school: mistakes in language-use reduce your credibility.

Actually, the guy's claims aren't all that ridiculous - within 10 days you'll know how to play the trumpet (he doesn't say you'll be doing it), "Within 90 days you'll be exiting your family and friends with your beautiful tone and technique. " I believe there are laws against exiting human beings (presidential races are another matter), but after spending a certain amount of time on the internet you become inured to such things. And he spelled "tonguing" correctly! - extra credit.

From the quotes posted here I first thought the writer's native language wasn't English and that if I could identify the language I could figure out what word he was translating "touchy" from. But that doesn't seem to be the problem. He probably had something on the order of moving, stirring, affecting, in mind. Typing "define:touchy" and then "thesaurus:(using the relevant words in the definition)" into the Google search box might have led him eventually to a better choice. Or he could have gone havsies with a copy editor.

A while ago there was a discussion somewhere about whether there'd be a brand new, revolutionary method for teaching everybody to play like a pro coming out in the next ten years. I don't know about ten years, but eventually scientists are going to be able to do more than simply follow the pathways in the brain associated with certain activities and be able to store and then transmit them to other brains. One of these activities is bound to be trumpet playing.

Kids will nag their parents for the Jon Faddis version or the Sandoval version (extra for pedals) the way they nag for silver finishes on pro-level horns now. I'd imagine the sensation after the procedure would be like getting on a bike after not having ridden for 50 years - you can balance, you can pop a wheelie - but you don't have the muscle to ride any distance. So students will fool around with their newly implanted habits for a while and discover it still takes work to build the muscle... or maybe the muscles could be stimulated during the procedure and there wouldn't be any need for practice even to build up strength? I'd almost rather see those trumpet-playing robots take over.
