tmor will become famous soon enough
Man, that recording sounds like it's underwater

Quick question... has anyone ever tried an old horn underwater? With it angled somewhat down so the bell had air in it, did it work? I'm thinking trumpet & trombone are about the only instruments that would have a decent shot at working. Of course the resonance will be altered.

Trying to figure out if it would be worth giving it a shot.

Believe it or not, at the 1973 National Trumpet Symposium in Denver which featured people like Maynard Ferguson and Bill Chase, there was actually a trumpet player who specialized in some strange avante garde music and he gave a concert in which he played with the bell of the trumpet submerged in water.
I don't remember the details other than thinking at the time "I don't believe how weird this is".
Does anybody know who that trumpet player was?

It was most likely Marcus Stockhousen Intuitive Music, Jazz, Classical - Markus Stockhausen (trumpet)
I saw it done at Chosen Vale last summer by Daniel Rosenboom I believe. It is a cool effect. Hard to describe the sound. Just get a bucket of water and dip your horn in and play, haha
