    Marcus Bonna Cases

    Hello trumpet brethren,

I've been looking for a good case for my C trumpet.
My psychotic sister visited and destroyed my Bb trumpet and the double case where it lived along with my C.
I live the MB cases but...I have a Scherzer rotary piccolo coming and I don't know if it would fit in the picc compartment of the 3 trumpet case.

Does anyone have experience with these cases?

MB have two kinds of 3 trumpets cases.
there is the compact - Two "big" trumpets and a small (pic or small Eb). the structure is on trumpet on top the other, and the small trumpet alongside.
and full - three trumpets on next to each other. it can be fitted with 3 full sized trumpets.

in the bigger case there will be no problem at all.
but if you want the compact case, there's a problem.
the rotary mechanism is too wide.
if you want, you can contact MB and ask for a costum case. just ask for the compact 3 but a little bit wider so it will fit a rotary pic.

after all of that being said, im speaking after the cases and rotary piccs I've seen.
maybe the scherzer is not that wide?
but if you contact MB they will have all the info you want.

    Ok. Thanks for the tip.
I knew the set up of the case. I just didn't know if the picc compartment would be wide enough.
I will send out an e-mail.

May I ask, How did your psychotic sister destroy the original MB case? Were the horns in the case at the time? I will make a recommendation based on your reply, and mail a prescription for Risperdal.

She didn't want to hear me practice (in my own home) so when I refused to stop, she picked up my case (with Bb trumpet inside; my C trumpet was in my hands, thank God!) and slammed it violently onto the floor.
She was actually in a mental hospital for a while...I have no idea how she got out.
I realize no case will protect my instruments enough from her. The marcus bonna cases are just made well and travel easily, that's why they're my choice.

Non-players do not realize the NECESSITY for us to play in order to be able to play. Add psychotic reactions and I feel your pain. Since it is FAMILY, I also feel your resignation and acceptance. It sounds like something her caregivers should be informed of, though. No one was hurt THIS TIME, but it seems like a possible harbinger of worse to come on the horizon. Good luck.

This NEVER would have happened with a Torpedo case. If it can survive a Cougar, it would survive your sister; AND it travels very well at that.

They seem very nice and sturdy.
The question is: could I fit my Scherzer picc in there?

Yep. Here is the configuration of my Coyote Snarl 2.5. The back compartment that I use for the trumpet stands is actually designed for a picc.
