More confused the higher I go...

Hey Manny,

I've asked my fair share of tonguing questions on this website. I stopped asking simply because I was thinking way to much about the mechanics and got away from playing musically. But this one problem I'm having gets me stuck...the higher I go while tonguing, the lower the front of my tongue wants to go in my mouth making me tongue at a much lower postition than it feels in the middle to low register. It makes my tongue sluggish and it stops the air flow causing compression. Have you ever experienced this or taught someone who had this problem? I'm thinking and saying "two-two-two" or "tah-tah-tah" but as soon as I put the horn up to my face to do it in the horn it feels totally different in my mouth. Any suggestions or answers??

Jeremy
