    Music suggestions for Playing outdoors.

So i took my horn outside yesterday and played in public for the first time! Was cool, didnt make any money (i went to the quietest street i could find) but didnt get any rotten fruit thrown at me either so i'm looking at it in the positive. It was a first for me and a hurdle i've gotten over!

But i need songs to add to my repotoire.... all the tunes i know are slow and kinda sad, - my funny valentine/ the partys over/ summertime/ Scarborough fair/ danny boy/ time after time/ Beasame mucho/ Largo.etc

What i want is tunes that are quite easy to play, not too high up in the register and have a happy up beat feel.

Any body got any suggestions. I wanna cheer people up, not remind them of their ex girfriends or how bad their lifes suck! lol.

Links to sheet music would also be mucho appreciated.

    Thanks.

try "showtunes" -- the wizard of Oz, Oklahoma --- most of the songs in them are still fairly familiar to people. at least middle age people. Patriotic songs -- also try getting a FAKE book. they usually feature popular songs, that are relatively easy to play, and tunes which a vast majority of people are familiar with.

Nothing is more contagious or tenacious than music. Once you are exposed it gets inside you and you can never get rid of it. It is also non-discriminating. It can be Ride of the Valkyries, In a Gadda da Vida, the Jeopardy 15 second thinking tune, your most disliked commercial jingle - it doesn't matter. Once triggered, off you go, like it or not.
