    National Anthem 49ers/Panthers playoff game

A friend just messaged me and said that The Star Spangled Banner was played on trumpet just a few minutes ago. Did anyone on here catch it? Someone please post a link if you know of one.

    Thanks!!

I had the TV on, but muted. I was practicing my trumpet. When I looked up, I saw the person, trumpet in hand, wearing a Carolina jersey, and taking a bow. I unfortunately missed it.

I believe it was Jesse McGuire. Here's a YouTube link.

Very nice! I am watching that game, but I missed the start. I love how he took it up into the stratosphere, and the crowd seemed to dig it as well. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Sorry, but I'm totally unimpressed. Seriously. Totally unimpressed. Totally. Unimpressed.

Let's suppose we look at the playing in the "normal" register. Vibrato inappropriate, sound bright yet blatty, no painting of the text at all. Does taking stuff up an octave make up for that? Nope.

Saw/heard most of it. For the most part, far better than some pop singer flipping notes and improvising beyond good taste so you almost can't stand to listen. Not that bad- he's got some chops. Plays/played with Tower of Power. I'll take him 9 times out of 10.
