Need Buescher Identification help

I own an ebay consignment store-you bring it in, I list on ebay and sell for you--just got in a nice horn, states Buescher Aristocrat, indicates model
'C220'--not being a horn expert, can anyone tell me if this is an actual cornet or trumpet?--main tubing looks like a cornet, length is 16.5" without mouthpiece--serial number dates it to 1955--I have only found info on model "220", not C220--All help is appreciated--Thanks

Re: Need Buescher Identification help

I would bet that's one of the later Bach-made Bueschers that have no resemblance to any of the true Buescher horns.

The length certainly implies cornet. Of course with a picture of it we can tell a lot more easily.

Re: Need Buescher Identification help

Selmer didn't buy the company until 1963. Suspect the C stands for "cornet". There are a lot of 50's Buescher's around that show up on ebay occaisionally, no doubt a student cornet of some sort. I think the Selmers start BU something. There is a Bu-9 on ebay now.
