i dont know your price range, but i think the yamaha copies of schilke horns are a steal. you can find them for $400 to $600.

I bought one just looking for a temp bflat and liked it so much i plan on keeping it.

hope that helps,

jason

if you have a good amount to spend:go new but remember as i mentioned before you can get some great steals on used horns.

if this is your first pro horn(b flat i assume) i would suggest bach and yamaha.

there are plenty of others out there but this would be a good place to start.

good luck and keep us posted,

jason

I just got a Kanstul made French besson, beautiful horn. If you could get one of these for $700 (US) You could pocket some of that cash and buy method books or Cd's of your favorite trumpet players! Good luck!

Just found this post on TPIN:

From: <donovan-tpin3100@mailblocks.com>
Subject: Misc. Items for Sale

I've got a few instruments I'd like to move. If you think my price
isn't fair, make me an offer.

ALL INSTRUMENTS ARE NEW

Conn Vintage One 1B-50C-SP - new Vintage One C trumpet w/the #50
leadpipe in silverplate. Two in stock, one has a small ding on the
bell. "Ding" model - $1295, "non-ding" - $1349

Phaeton Bb - lacquer finish, great playing horn. $949 w/case

Besson - one of the last of the Kanstul made Bessons in lacquer finish
-
$829

Those are all great horns and fit will within your budget even with shipping and import duties included. The Besson is probably the sleeper in the bunch. Still, it's always a good idea to "try before you buy".

Adrian, check your private messages.
