    I may to look into that one. My harmon's tube got messed up, and I don't want to keep borrowing my SIL's. Besides, we've had to both use a Harmon at church at times

    I just replaced my H&B cup with a Denis Wick. I love the tone and intonation. I don't think there is any real competition for the Denis Wick cup. As for using it as a straight mute, I don't think it was ever intended to be used without the cup. I'll have to see how I like it as a straight mute.
    I use a copper Gemini Tom Crown. It was the first mute I bought and I have always loved it. I suppose I have never had trouble with blending since I have a good ear for blending. I might try H&B symphonic straight anyway for my students.
    I was looking for bucket mutes yesterday but found very little available. I don't know of any use for them either. Insight, please?
