I have been experimenting a bit in light of the widening interval problem (which was not really fixed by tuning ot the top end).
Having used a Bach 6 for a long time (which is really a V shaped cup) I decided to try a 5MV.
This has been a bit of a revelation.
Out of the box it pushed the intervals closer together and gives a very fluid and easy attack, there is also plenty of lip room.
It could do with a wider rim for comfort.
Having looked at the Kanstul comparator it seems that other people might have had the same idea as there is a Mohan 7P listed which is similar cup shape but with a wider rim.
I am going to see how it goes and if I continue to like it I will try and get a custom one made with a wider rim.
Re: Piccolo mouthpieces
Old post, but I just found it.
The "Mohan 7P" is designed for piccolo trumpet. It is a shallower version of the CG Personal rim and cup, but with the throat and backbore of the CG3.
It gives a nice, big piccolo trumpet sound - great for baroque music in churches, and for the pic parts of musicals such as "Cats".
I designed it for the player of the CG Personal who needs a matching-rim mouthpiece of piccolo trumpet.
