I just started playing on an Eb trumpet more regularly and now that I'm past the stage of squawking out every other note I've noticed a few things about it.

The sound is obviously very different, but I like the way the notes lock in during lip slurs more than on my Bb. There's less tendency to over or undershoot.

The upper register is surprisingly easy. In Eb trumpet speak, the G on top of the staff to the D above it, all speak very easily and have a much nicer tone quality (For me personally) then they do when I play them on my Bb.

Partially related to the upper register being easier, I find my endurance is also a lot better on the Eb than on the Bb.

I guess I was wondering if this was characteristic of all Eb trumpets, or if I'm just connecting more with this particular trumpet than the other one.

Has anyone else had similar findings in playing a trumpet in a key other than Bb?

(For reference, my Bb is a Lawler Model T, and the Eb is some Yamaha that I'm borrowing from my teacher)
