Pounded my chops tonight..

...went a bit overboard on a Salsa gig tonight, lot's of audience really into it and the solos went high energy with the feedback from the crowd.....way too high energy...gonna warmdown then hit the sack.

Should always remember, when it feels great don't push it too far!!!!

Now I remember..............

Warm-down, don't fail me now!

Good to hear that from you Dave! You are usually the voice of reason and wisdom but it's nice to see you on the other side where most of us hang out!

BTW: You'll be just fine... It's a rather liberating feeling is'nt it?

Hey Dave:

Welcome to my world....I get to do that 3-4 times a week in NYC.

Don't worry about your chops....you'll probably play better today than ever.

Just don't play like that 2 days in a row....then you'll end up at your local chops Dr.

Victor Paz, who was a great influence on many of us in NYC, used to play very concentrated......always played like you he had another 2 sets to go. Its when you start opening up your aperature that the start of your troubles begin.......don't forget to make the soundman is your best friend.,,,,,tell him you are supporting 5 kids at home and you can't get hurt.
