Pricing yourself

How does one establish a pricing schedule for wedding appearances? Is it normally done by the service with extra fees for music in addition to processional and recessional? (ie. $150 for the wedding and rehearsal; $35 each for incidental pieces such as offertory or preludes or seating of the mothers music)? Do you charge a flat rate regardless of additional pieces? How about extra rehearsals beyond the normal one prior?

Also, how do I find the average rate for my area?

Ask some of the players who get called alot to play them or call a wedding planer and see what they think. You can also set your own price.

Big question: What is it worth to you?
