Dear Folks at TrumpetMaster.com,
I'm new to the forum. I like baroque music. I enjoy some period instrument performances done in the so-called "historically-informed" style, but also many of the older recordings done on modern instruments. It may strike some as anachronistic when I say that some of my favourite "baroque trumpeters" happen to be Maurice Andre, Adolf Scherbaum, and the great Roger Voisin! Here's my question. I want to make a natural trumpet. I understand that I'll need about 7 to 71/2 foot of tubing, a bell, and a mouthpiece. But--which mouthpiece would be best? Reading some previous posts I notice that Michael Laird apparently doesn't mind modern mouthpieces on natural/baroque trumpets, so I reckon the standard modern mouthpiece (7C) would fit the bill. Any thoughts from fellow members?

Re: A Question
I notice on the link that he sells "Baroque mouthpieces". It might be worth a phone call to get your question answered, Tom.
