| Piano User | A question about an ITG article I'm not sure where this topic is supposed to be. Oh well... I've recently read an ITG article about interviewing Maurice André. I quote: ""I [Maurice André] worked on the 12 Arban etudes," I said. He made me play all 12!" Was this a typo or was there some sort of mistranslation? Aren't there 14 etudes and 12 solos at the back of the Arban's? This is really a minor thing but I'm just curious. Did Mr Maurice André play the 14 etudes or the 12 solos?

| Pianissimo User | YES!!! lol ??? I'm guessing he means the 12 solos. The 14 are called 'Characteristic Studies' and I'm guessing he's using etudes in place of songs???
