I am a part time player who tries to keep up my playing well enough to still play for money.
I just wonder how I fit in with the rest of you.
How often do you practice?
How do you find time with a day job?
When you practice, do you do things like Arban or Clarke or just play?
I'll tell how I do it.
I practice during the day when I work from home.
When I'm on the road I bring a cornet with me and play when I can.
The road stuff just keeps my lip going, I don't really learn anything.
When I am home, I will play Arban and Charlier and Clarke.
It's starting to get old for me. I think I need another book.
On weekends, I play the same things and add recording myself.
I have a lot of Music Minus One.
I record a Concerto or whatever and my rest time is listening to see where I went wrong.
Sometimes on a weekend I will record the same concerto 3 or 4 times.
