| Piano User | real dilemma... I've recently considered majoring in performace (along with liberal arts as a double major) but I'm not sure if I should do that. So here are a few questions for the professionals who went to conservatory/music college... Have you kept enjoying practising and playing? There will certainly be an extra amount of pressure in becoming a professional and I'm not too sure whether I would enjoy practising as I do now. Did seeing prodigies or amateurs who are 'better' (in terms of both musicianship and techniques) players ever make you regret picking your trumpet up? I know there will be better amateurs than me in any field of study but with music it just becomes so painfully obvious. |
