I don't think the orchestras that are paying 2 mil for conductors are the ones that are in the worst trouble. It seems like its more the mid level orchestras that are having the hardest time.

Along similar lines, one thing that really annoyed me was that the last time I went to the San Francisco Symphony I found that the program that week omitted listing the orchestra personnel anywhere. (I assume they did this to cut printing costs and/or increase ad revenue with one more page of ads??)

But then, of course, MTT had his name and picture on the cover, as usual.

Disparity between them is to be expected, but this is a bit much.

I find that very odd. I don't think I've ever been to an orchestra concert where the orchestra wasn't listed in the program...
