I don't know that I'd buy anything called "Schill". I mean, you have to admit, it's a rather unfortunate name for a business, no? It's a little like being referred to a law firm called "Dewey, Cheatham & Howe".

Manny, I think the CarTalk guys get a royalty from you since you used that joke!

Anyway, I've never heard of Schill either.

Nah, Gordie Howe used it for years in Detroit.

Re: The skinny on Schill...

Schill is yet another stamp being applied to Chinese horns in a feeble attempt to confuse the first-time buyer into thinking they're getting a Schilke "for cheap". The guys bringing in the container loads of this cr*p keep changing the stamping on the bells every few months to disguise the fact that they're all the same thing... probably from the same factory.

(Take that, Pan)

Re: The skinny on Schill...

Reminds me of a very popular horn in the fifties and early sixties, the (and I'm not making this up) Conn Artist.

Hats off to Toots!

Buying Trumpets on eBay from I Buy Trumpets - best place to sell or buy trumpets and cornets

You have to read quite a lot before Schill gets mentioned, but they do...

Re: The skinny on Schill...

I would hazard a guess that if its being marketed as 'brand new' and is that cheap.........its crap. Buy a used pro horn, it will serve you far better

Re: The skinny on Schill...

Customer: "I'd like to get a bottle of valve oil for my new Schill trumpet"

The store owner thinks for a minute and replies: "OK, that sounds like a fair trade to me."
