David, in the meantime, try to find a copy of the Minnesota Orchestra's recording of Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. I like to think of that as a trumpet solo with orchestra accompanyment...

Another one to get is Strauss; Alpine Symphony.

i've heard the m/o alpine sym...from many years ago. seems like it was a old recording.
