![]() | Talking About Sound After having gone to a lot of masterclasses with different trumpet players and brass players and having studied with various people, it seems different orchestras do things differently in terms of obtaining a brass section sound. Some orchestras, actually get the whole brass section together and specifically talk about the sound they are going for, while others seem to not talk at all, not because they don't want to, but they prefer to use their ears. I am just curious about your feelings on this, and how you prefer to work, since obviously you are in a leadership position in the brass section.
