The difference between the pros and the average players is that the pros MUST learn to turn bad days into good days.

The trumpet and your mouthpiece do not change overnight. The problem is either with your chops or your mind.

The great players solves what the problem is, while the average guy puts the instrument in the case and goes bowling NOT KNOWING WHY it was a bad day.

I went to a clinic by a great trumpet player who said that he would only put his horn away when he was feeling good. If that took 4,5 or 10 hours then thats what it took that day!
