    Can someone tell me what "TIN" means when written above music. It happens in "Come fly with me" bar 69 and 41. Many thanks

    Tins usually means Harmon Mute.

    My transcription goes to Tins at C play first time only, and then both times where there are the moving 1/2 notes, two whole notes and the triplet 1/4 notes.

    I'm sure it means Harmon mute. (Stem removed)

    I'm glad to learn this. About a year or so ago a piece was marked with this and we played it with straight mutes, not knowing any better.
