Question "took delivery" and Monette trumpets

why do people who receive monette trumpets refer to it as "taking/took delivery"?

how about

"I got my Monette in the mail".

"the monette showed up at my door step today"

"I got that monette I have been talking about today"

Do you ever hear people say. "I took delivery of my yamaha xeno"

What is it about "taking delivery" and monettes

Re: "took delivery" and Monette trumpets

When it comes down to it, it's a marketing/image thing. Dave is good at setting himself apart from the rest of the market, and terminology is just one insignificant way that he's done that.

That Monette refers to customers as "clients" is a little more telling. For all the money you're spending, you get the customer service you would expect. The high price and relatively small base of people who are able/willing to pay for a Monette instrument allows the shop to have a personal dialog with the customer that isn't possible with the "conventional" companies, and "client" reflects this relationship.

It would be interesting to compare marketing philosophies of Apple and Monette. Both take pride in doing things differently, have unique designs that have been copied to various degrees of success and offer better customer support than anyone else in the industry, and both at a premium price. Both also have die hard followers and make a lot more noise in the industry than their relatively small market shares would suggest.

I see, so that's where the nickname "Duck" model came from. And I thought it was for your new "Oregon lite" model. " To be coming at you, real soon."
