Dear Manny,

Today (Sunday) I heard a young trumpet player on the radio show
" From the Top" hosted by Christopher O'Riley. The trumpet player is one of your students, but I didn't get his name.

The young man said his dream gig would be any job that allowed him to play with you.

Yes!

He's presently a second year student of Marie Speziale's at Rice at really enjoying himself. She is apparently a wonderful teacher who is beloved by her students and after a brief conversation we had I can see why. She's caring and knowledgeable and has a terrific reputation as a player from her days with Cinncinati.

Glad you enjoyed the show.

you say he is at rice, but he is on "from the top"

i thought that show was for 18 and under only. was it recorded a few years ago?

Yes. And he was playing an Arban solo (surprise, surprise!), the one in A. Did a nice job, too.
