| triplets.......help I'm in a Klezmer band and I'm having trouble playing triplets in succession, especially at fast tempos. Anyone familiar with Klezmer knows how important a "good triple" is. I'm starting to focus on them in my practice sessions but I'm wondering if there are any important TMer tips?..........crow |

| Re: triplets.......help I should have pointed out that I'm talking about slured triplets. I know there's no short cuts but I was wondering if emphisis on the first note might be helpful, or some kind of visioning, or fingering tips, etc. If not, I'll just follow the metronome trail.............thanks, crow |

I know there's no short cuts but I was wondering if emphisis on the first note might be helpful, or some kind of visioning, or fingering tips, etc. Use a metrenome... also try and put a tiny TINY TINY emphasis on the first note and have that line up with the met... So instead of feeling da-a-a da-a-a You'd be feeling DA-a-a DA-a-a |

![]() | Re: triplets.......help For practice purposes a big accent on the beat can help, and then the fun begins... We can phrase two triplets 123123, or 121212, or 123412. Using a metronome is an excellent idea, and we can practice rhythm without the trumpet or the metronome while walking, chewing gum or any other semi-rhythmic activity by counting 123123123 over and over again, or using words, like "crowmadic,crowmadic..." |

| Re: triplets.......help Vulgano, Those wanting to use the name Crowmadic for anything would have to contact me for permission. I don't want just anybody walking along the street repeating my name for the sake of improving their triplets. My fees are reasonable. Just contact me here and I'll tell you where to send the loot..........crow |
