    Trumpet Aces - Information Needed

In the 30's, there was a trumpet vaudeville act called the Trumpet Aces composed of the Candreva Brothers. The only recording I can find of them was from a 1935 movie with George Burns and Gracie Allen called Here Comes Cookie.

Can anyone tell me what the names of all six brothers? I studied with Phil Candreva in the 70's (one of the brothers), a first call trumpet player for Universal, CBS, Disney and other studios in Hollywood. He talked a bit about his vaudeville days and his drinking buddy, Ralph. I eventually asked about 'Ralph' and found out from him it was Rafael Mendez. I've uncovered a picture of Louis Maggio, Rafael and Phil taken in the 50s (picture on Scott Webber | A Brief History of ‘The Original Louis Maggio System for Brass’).

So, I'd like to know more about his brothers, where he fit in the birth order, names of siblings, and if any of them played professionally after their vaudeville days.

I am Al Candreva's daughter-in-law, he was one of the Candreva Brothers (six brothers). Never heard they were call the Trumpet Aces. They have all passed now, Phil was the last to pass in 2004 (I think). I have all the info you need with pictures.

Trying to upload pictures, but files are too large. Will try to reduce them.

Don't know how you are trying to reduce them but I open the picture with 'Paint' an then in the 'Image' drop-down select 'Stretch-Skew' and in the Stretch box put 25 in both the horizontal & vertical and save the results. This significantly reduces the size of the .jpg file and allows convenient uploading.

I hope this came out, many more to come. BTW, the Candreva's owned seven of FE Olds first Los Angeles Trumpets. Old's was a neighbor to them in Los Angeles. I know where one is, and I'm going to try and find out what happened to Al's, his sister had it, and I don't know where it is now. Going to check with the executer of the estate.
