![]() | Trumpet Day in Pittsburgh Friends, On Saturday April 24, 2004 Duquesne University, Mary Pappert School of Music, in Pittsburgh,PA, will host a "Trumpet Day". This event is free and open to any with a deep interest in trumpet playing. The event was organized by Roger Sherman, trumpet with the Pittsburgh Symphony (PSO) and faculty member at Duquesne. This event will get started at 9:45 AM and conclude with a recital at 5:00 PM. The program is as follows. 9:45 Vincent Cichowicz-"Basic Concepts of Wind Playing" 11:15 Master Class with Mr. Cichowicz 12:45-Lunch 2:15 George Vosburg(principal with the PSO)-"Orchestral Literature" 3:30 Dr. Stephen Hawk "The Trumpeter's Dilemma: The Right Tool for the Job" 5:00 Neal Berntsen(PSO)and Tom Rolfs(Boston) "Trumpet Recital" This unbelievable event will serve to inspire us all.
