No, the stand will not warp the bell if there is no additional force applied. I generally leave my horns in the case - they do not dry out as fast and a "moist" horn plays far easier than a bone dry one.
There are cases out there that work even if the lid is not shut. I have a big Reunion Blues double trumpet bag that works just fine as does the Monette double hard case. Here is a view from the top of that bag:

I hated moving that B-3 and Rhodes ... New York.. winter ... snow... stairs .... the equipment we have now days is so much lighter .... still how can you beat a B3 and Leslie .... add a trumpet stand I guess :)
