    Wow those felts do stuff?

I was oiling my valves today and put the 3rd one in the wrong way, it was so funny, my horn was so blocked up! And I couldn't figure out what was wrong, I finally figured it out.
About 40 lbs of trumpet books for sale. Arban's, Colin, Gordon, all the good stuff. Ask me.

    Re: Trumpet Valve Alignment?

If you have a friendly dentist ask him if he has a No 2 mirror he can sell you, mine was $4 and find a cheap single led booklight, mine $2, and you have all the inspection tools necessary to check valve alignment, remove 2nd valve and check 1 and 3, through the interconnecting ports, remove 1 or 3 to check 2. I have found that .010" does not make a difference at least for me.

An interesting experiment is to blow an open note and slowly press each valve in turn noting the amount of travel before the note distorts, also do from the depressed position releasing slowly, the results may surprise you.

    Regards, Stuart.
