University of Louisville Announces...

Possible Assistantship and Service Awards in Brass and/or Trumpet Available

University of Louisville School of Music

Contact: Amanda Boyd, Admissions Counselor at (502)852-1623 or arboyd02@louisville.edu and Michael Tunnell at (502)852-7857 or mhtunn01@louisville.edu

Assistantships include full tuition remission, health care benefits, and a $12,000 stipend. GTAs work an average of 20 hours per week in their respective areas, and duties vary. Students may apply for these awards by writing a letter of interest to the Scholarship Committee and the Faculty Supervisor of the desired position. An interview may be required.

Service Awards provide students the opportunity to receive full or partial tuition remission for completing duties in and around the School of Music. Students with Service Awards work from 5 – 10 hours per week, depending on the amount of the award. Some possible responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: monitor for the computer lab, assistant to the facilities manager for concert set-up/tear-down, librarian/stage manager for ensembles.

All application materials (including audition/portfolio) MUST be received by February 15, 2008, in order to be considered for these awards.
