Re: Valve Alignment?

Josh,
How long would it take to evaluate and then do an alignment. Is it something I could wait around for, or do I leave the horn and come back in a few days?
Bob

Re: Valve Alignment?

Ahhhh, rotaries do have their advantages. A quality champagne cork and an exacto knife do the trick quite nicely.

Re: Valve Alignment?

All these services mention aligning the valves vertically. Can they be aligned horizontally as well? I looked at one of my horns (just the second valve of course) and noticed that it's more out of whack from left to right as opposed to up and down (which the above described valve alignments correct). It seems to me the only way to fix it horizontally would be to make valve guides that have the little notches that fit into the grooves in the sides however many degrees necessary to the left or right of where they normally are. Or, I guess you could unsolder the valve where the spring section meets the tubing section and resolder it to the correct alignment - that seems pretty tricky though. Is this making any sense?
