One of the most cordial and friendly "Gentlemen" it was ever my pleasure to meet. I will always cherish hearing him play and listening to him do a masterclass. To have shaken his hand is a milestone for me.

What a loss for the trumpet world. One of the great pedagogues and teachers. My teachers were students of his as well. I as well feel grateful to have met him and participated in a masterclass under his guidance.

Re: Vincent Cichowicz R.I.P.

I read this and felt a sadness. I never knew him; none of my teachers studied with him, but his influene is felt so far and wide that he touched my life nonetheless. He will carry on, as all the greats.

Re: Vincent Cichowicz R.I.P.

This is a day that I've been dreading for months, knowing that Mr. Cichowicz has been ill.

How many of us owe our careers to teachers who nutured us at precisely the right moment? I certainly do and will thank him privately as soon as I log off. What a warm, interesting, man and such a wonderful teacher.

TMers, pull the old recording of Reiner/CSO doing the Bartok Concerto for Orchestra and listen carefully to the second trumpet lines. He was an absolute mirror of Bud -- a first trumpeter's dream.

Very, very saddened
