For a fairly decent player it can be played on a standard Bb, C, D, G, high A, high Bb picc or a natural trumpet. Most players do not have a G picc kicking around so they use the high A instead. The horn is actually insignificant. Your playing will make it successful. A cooperative relationship with the oboe player is VERY beneficial!
