This weekend it's the Malcolm McNab interview on JPR

Hello All,

This weekend on JPR it's an interview featuring trumpet player Malcolm McNab. Malcolm has played on over 2000 movie sound tracks, survived playing with Frank Zappa and is the
undesputed 1st call player in LA.

Malcolm has a new album coming out produced by Gary Grant and you will hear excerpts from each of the 3
movements of the Tchaikowsky Violin Concerto.
Overture is an exerpt of the 1st movement from
Saloon Music by Bruce Broughton.
Bebop Tango is an exerpt from the Frank Zappa
piece.
The Bach Concerto for 2 violins is an exerpt
from the 3rd movement.

Listen starting Friday night at Midnight(Saturday morning) May 20th thru Monday night May 22nd at 12, 3, 6, and 9 24/7

Yea, I heard did interview a couple of times. THis guys playing is truly amazing. He will be coming out with a solo CD this year.

As for practise methods he is a James Stamp student. Always talks about finding the center of each tone. Also, the importance of practising your basics everyday...he says "I have heard many players play high and fast but when they fail in the studio it always has something to do with the basics".


As for studio work he says "Its 90% boredom and 10% sheer terror".
