What age did you start playing trumpet?

I am curious to see what age people started on trumpet, ill mention my age later, but as for now id love to see when people started playing trumpet and what horn was there first trumpet/cornet.

So....
What age did you start playing?

What was your first horn?

edit: i started actual lessons when i was ten, but started playing around with a trumpet when i was six, i asked for one for christmas, it came, my life was complete

5th grade, I would have been 10 years old, stopped at 17/18. Olds Ambassador

Started again at age 46, LA Benge is my main horn now.

4th grade. 9 years old. I also stopped at 18/19. I've played a little here and there over the years, but nothing serious. Now at 48, I am now wanting to get back in shape and play as much as I can.

My horn is my first only horn: 1966 Holton Collegiate, that my mom bought on a rent-to-own plan with the school band.

Now almost 35.
First trumpet was a Yamaha YTR-1335.

I was in 6th grade 11/12 years old and still play my 1st and so far my only Bach TR300.

26 years old started playing horn , now I'm 27 , many people say it's to late... but I'm ambitious. I also play keyboards since 7th grade (12 years) , and guitar for 10 years... so it's a little bit easier to understand how trumpet works ...

Started at age 12 in 7th. grade - now 65 and still playing, but not as well as I'd like. Long time off the horn but now back on and working hard. First horn was a Rudy Muck Academy cornet - now have the horns in my sig.
