    What albums should I get?

What is the "must hear" trumpet blues and jazz albums? I have listened to a lot of Chet Baker and Miles Davis, but I wonder if there are any other artists you would recommend! I'm especially interested in finding more blues albums with lead trumpet (not big band). :)

Albums?? That's a words you don't hear very often . Clifford Brown is a must IMO. I have all his stuff converted to CD.

Here's my two picks for you ............. MUST HAVES:

    1. Lee Morgan's "Candy" ... Jazz album where Lee is 19 years old. He's the only wind instrument, no other horns or saxes ... As good as it gets when there's only one trumpet. For more trumpets:

    2. "The Alternate Blues" .... Jazz/Blues album where the first half is all blues soloing by Dizzy, Clark Terry, and Freddie Hubbard. You have to hear this one.
